This project consisted of upgrading and expanding to the existing Energy Monitoring and Control System ( EMCS ) for the base and making energy conservation improvements to an existing hanger. A new data transmission network was designed to allow discontinuing of existing phone company lines for data transmission. The existing central control equipment was replaced with state of the art equipment.
Existing Field Interface Devices ( FID's ) were upgraded with new electronics and twenty four additional buildings were added to the system. Over 450 system schematics and input-output summaries were were prepared to document the existing field devices as well as adding 1174 new points to the system. Software packages were provided to optimize the operation of the equipment in the buildings to reduce overall energy consumption and still maintain occupant comfort.
The bid documents contained fifty sheets of site plans, floor plans and details. Detailed cost estimates and energy consumption calculation were made to determine the return on investment for the expanded system.
