The projects consists of a new 23,000 sq. ft. physical education building and a new 3-story building which includes 15,000 sq. ft. of industrial arts, 13,500 sq. ft. of science classrooms and a 9,300 sq. ft. library.

Welding exhaust hoods were provided for each welding booth. The two-speed exhaust fan and automatic zone dampers allow half of the exhaust hoods to be shut off for small classes, thus saving energy. The two-speed gas fired make-up air unit uses 100% outside air to replace the air being exhausted through the the welding hoods. Air is supplied to all areas of industrial arts before it is exhausted at the hoods.

The science floor utilizes a medium pressure, high velocity, variable air volume system with terminal heating coils for individual room temperature control. The return fan incorporates a return air ceiling plenum and heat removal light fixtures to reject excess heat to the outdoors or return the heat to the air handlers. The fresh air fan supplies the air handler with the required amount of outside air and incorporates a heat pipe heat exchanger to temper the air and recapture approximately 60% of the energy in the toilet exhaust air.  This air handling system has the capability to bring in up to 100% outdoor air for free cooling.

A multizone air handler serves the library to provide four zones of control. The system was sized for future refrigerated cooling.
